CHRISTIANS ARE called to protect widows and orphans. Today we meet a couple that’s taken the command literally: Rev. Bob Land, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville, Indiana, and his wife, Amy, have two adopted children and they’re trying to adopt three more.
But there’s more: the five-year-old children they want to adopt have special needs ranging from cerebral palsy to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome — and they currently live in an orphanage in Ukraine.
Learn more about the Lands and their calling to adopt at their blog, Saving Orphans for God’s Glory, and the ministry they’ve partnered with, Reece’s Rainbow.
